OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Members
of the Executive Committee: 1.
President:
Shall be responsible for presiding over the monthly business meetings and
executive committee meetings, vision casting for the group, and leading by
example. The President shall vote
only when one vote is required to break a tie. The
President shall be the second signer on all accounts.
The President shall be accountable to the executive committee as a whole,
and to the Vice-President individually for his actions and decisions. 2.
Vice-President:
Shall be responsible for assuming the role of the President in the event
of an absence or vacancy, and to complete the term of the President in the event
a vacancy does occur. The
Vice-President will hold the President personally accountable, and will
coordinate and hold accountable the standing committee chairpersons.
The Vice-President is an ex-officio member of each standing committee,
and will be the liaison between the standing committee chairs and the executive
committee. The Vice-President shall
be accountable to the executive committee as a whole, and to the Treasurer
individually for his actions and decisions. 3.
Treasurer: Shall
be responsible for the finances of the group, receiving and dispersing all
moneys and rendering account of all receipts and expenditures.
The Treasurer shall be the first authorized signer on all group financial
accounts. The Treasurer shall be
accountable to the executive committee as a whole, and to the Secretary
individually for his actions and decisions. 4.
Secretary:
Shall be responsible for taking and publishing the minutes of every
meeting, all official correspondence, taking of attendance at all functions and
the development, editing, and publishing of the newsletter.
The Secretary will be responsible for the maintenance of the membership
lists, and the filing of all membership applications.
The Secretary shall be accountable to the executive committee as a whole,
and to the Devotional officer individually for his actions and decisions. 5.
Devotional Officer: Shall
provide spiritual influence to both the executive committee and the general
assembly. The Devotional Officer
shall visit sick/injured group members, will provide an interdenominational
devotional at each group meeting, and will be available to be called on to pray.
The Devotional Officer will also be responsible for the development and
maintenance of a group prayer chain. The
Devotional Officer shall be accountable to the executive committee as a whole,
and to the Road Captain individually for his actions and decisions. 6.
Road Captain:
Shall be responsible for developing a ride committee to plan and schedule
group and Ministry rides for the Heralds of the Crossä
Motorcycle Ministry, Inc. The Road
Captain shall appoint members of his committee to lead and plan the specifics of
each ride. The Road Captain shall be
accountable to the executive committee as a whole, and to the President
individually for his actions and decisions. 7.
Member at Large: Shall
be appointed and approved by the general assembly and shall be a member of the
executive committee. The role of the
member at large is to represent the interests of the general assembly, and to be
the watchdog of the executive committee. The
member at large may be called on by the other members of the executive committee
to aid in the function of their offices. The
member at large shall hold the executive committee accountable, and shall be
accountable to the general assembly. Standing
Committee Chairpersons: 1.
New Member Education Committee Chairperson: This committee shall be
responsible for reviewing applications of new members, forwarding copies of each
membership application to the Secretary to file, hearing testimonies of
applicants, recommending applicants to the executive committee and the general
assembly for membership, facilitating the voting-in of new members both by the
executive committee and the general assembly, and instructing all new members in
any and all guidelines, rules, by-laws, and founding principles of the group.
This committee is also responsible for the teaching of evangelism
techniques at regular intervals (based on the Contagious Christian curriculum,
and How to share your faith in 2 minutes or less, or any other curriculum as
directed by the Board of Directors) and the presentation of our colors to newly
approved members. 2.
Evangelism Committee Chairperson: This
committee shall be responsible for developing, planning and coordinating
specific and intentional outreach events. Including
but not limited to: Having a booth
at any event (including contacting the host organization, arranging volunteers
to work, arranging for required materials, etc.), bike blessings, water/coffee
wagons, etc. 3.
Discipleship Committee Chairperson:
This committee shall be responsible for developing and maintaining an
intentional discipleship program focusing on the spiritual growth of new
Christians. This discipleship
program should be intentional and sequential and may include such things as
small group meetings and personal accountability.
This committee is also responsible for maintenance of the motorcycle
friendly church directory, including the review of the applications for listing
and recommending for approval of the executive committee that a specific church
be listed. 4.
Public Relations Committee Chairperson: This committee shall be
responsible for promoting the group to the motorcycle world.
Including but not limited to contacting other organizations, shops, show
promoters, etc. Other possible
responsibilities may include speaking to reporters or doing interviews.
This committee shall be responsible for holding regularly scheduled
"PR" events to get the name and purpose of this group in front of the
general population of motorcyclists. 5.
Nominating Committee Chairperson: It
shall be the responsibility of the nominating committee to present a full ballot
of qualified individuals to the current executive committee prior to the general
assembly meeting that falls the month before the election (For example:
If elections are held in January then the nominating committee must
present a full ballot to the current executive committee no later than the
executive committee meeting held prior to the December general assembly
meeting). The nominating committee
shall meet as often as required in order to accomplish a full ballot by the
deadline. It shall also be the
responsibility of the nominating committee to verify the qualifications of each
individual they present for an office, and to contact that person about their
nomination. |
