HOW CAN I KNOW FOR SURE THAT I
WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN?

The only way to know for sure is by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us why we need Jesus and how to receive the gift of salvation.

  1. Each one of us has sinned and disobeyed God's commandments in one way or another.  No one is perfect.  (Romans 3:23)

  2. The penalty for sin is death.  Our sins condemn us to hell, but eternal life is a free gift from God. (Romans 6:23)

  3. We cannot make up for our sins by doing good deeds.  We cannot get to heaven by being better than other people. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

  4. God doesn't want you to go to hell.  (2 Peter 3:9)  He loves you so much He sent his only son to die in your place. (John 3:16)

  5. We deserve the death penalty, but because of His love for you, Jesus took your place and died for you.  He paid the death penalty for your sins. (Romans 5:8)

  6. If you declare that Jesus is your Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved from hell. (Romans 10:9-10)

  7. God promises that once we believe that Jesus died in our place for our sins we can know for sure that we have eternal life, and this eternal life can never be lost.  (John 10:28)

PRAY THIS PRAYER TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST
AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I need to have a saving relationship with your son Jesus.  I confess my sins and repent from them, and I ask you to forgive me for those sins.  Jesus, I believe that you died in my place for my sins and then rose from the dead in victory over sin.  I ask to be saved and I want you to be Lord (take ownership) of my life.  Thank you Jesus for loving me.  Amen.

Scripture Verses in the New Living Translation:

Romans 3:23:  For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.

Romans 6:23:  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-9:  God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Romans 5:8:  But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Romans 10:9-10:  For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

Romans 10:13:  For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

John 10:28:  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me.
